Great Grandma Flaherty was a big part of Lee’s childhood but passed away when his children were young. He kept her spirit alive by telling his famous Great Grandma Flaherty stories that were mostly based around all the meals he cooked and embellishing them (but don’t tell his children) Great Grandma Flaherty was married to Santa Claus and used to cook for him every day to be sure he stayed nice and plump! She helped end World Wars by inventing Pea Soup and bread and feeding the troops to give them the energy to carry on. In truth she was an amazing quiet woman who thought of others always, especially the less fortunate. When we decided we wanted to open a food truck there was no question that it would be Great Grandma Flaherty’s. Our paninis came from Laurie’s grandmother (Grammy) who was always in the kitchen and always finding new recipes to try in magazines, cook books, and cooking shows. If she knew you liked a particular food you would get a recipe with all the coupons she had for the ingredients in the mail or with a paperclip and your name put aside for you. We run our truck and business to make our Grandmothers proud and keep the quality they would’ve appreciated and we hope you do too.
