Website and Membership Terms
These terms apply when you use the Site, submit an application or booking request, create a member account, or pay membership dues. If you act for a business, you confirm that you are authorized to act for that business.
Membership
Submitting an application or payment does not automatically guarantee membership. Membership is subject to SSFTA’s current eligibility requirements, membership materials, dues, approval process, bylaws, and adopted policies. Membership applies only to the period shown in the applicable materials or invoice, is not transferable, and does not renew automatically. Membership dues are paid through a third-party Square invoice sent by SSFTA, not through the Site. Dues and any refund terms are governed by the materials and invoice terms in effect when payment is made.
Member Accounts and Profiles
After approval and payment, SSFTA may create an account using application information and email the member a secure password-setting link. Members are responsible for protecting their credentials and keeping profile information accurate and current.
By submitting descriptions, menus, photos, logos, links, or other materials, a member confirms that it has permission to use them and gives SSFTA permission to display, format, and promote them for association, directory, event, and marketing purposes. The member keeps ownership of its materials. SSFTA may edit formatting or remove content that is inaccurate, unlawful, inappropriate, or harmful to the Site or association.
Bookings, Member Information and Independent Businesses
SSFTA may help distribute booking requests and introduce event organizers to member businesses. Unless SSFTA agrees otherwise in writing, the final agreement is between the organizer and the selected business. Each member is independently responsible for its pricing, contract, deposits, cancellations, licensing, permits, insurance, taxes, staffing, food preparation, allergy practices, service, and performance.
Directory descriptions, cuisine categories, dietary labels, allergy-related information, availability, and contact details are supplied or confirmed by individual members. SSFTA does not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, allergen-free, or suitable for a particular need. Customers should confirm important details directly with the business.
No Guaranteed Results
Membership may provide directory visibility, communications, networking, event opportunities, referrals, or other benefits described in current materials. SSFTA does not guarantee any specific event placement, number of leads, bookings, sales, revenue, website traffic, promotional feature, or other business result.
Acceptable Use
Users may not:
- Submit false, misleading, unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
- Attempt to access another account or a nonpublic part of the Site without permission.
- Interfere with Site security or operation, scrape member information, send spam, impersonate another person or business, or use the directory to harass others.
Site Availability and Responsibility
The Site is provided on an available basis. SSFTA cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that every listing will always be current. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SSFTA is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from Site use, reliance on a listing, a missed opportunity, a third-party service, or a transaction between an organizer and a member business. Rights that cannot lawfully be limited remain unaffected.
Membership Conduct and Access
Members must follow applicable law, SSFTA bylaws, adopted policies, and reasonable administrative procedures. Membership or Site access may be denied, limited, suspended, not renewed, or revoked in accordance with those rules and procedures.
Changes and Massachusetts Law
SSFTA may update these terms as the Site or membership program changes. Updated terms will be posted with a new effective date. These terms are governed by Massachusetts law. If one provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
